Queuing system, Qudini, launches a new remote “Join Queue” feature that allows customers to enter a queue using a QR Code and NFC.
This December, Qudini launches an exciting new feature that will enable our clients to create an online interface to allow their customers to select a service and enter their details to join a digital queue. The feature was developed out of an internal company Hackathon.
Innovating upon the feature further, as we always do, capabilities now enable organisations to easily access auto-generated QR codes, which they can download to display across their entire online and offline advertising campaign content.

This capability will enable brands to truly convert their advertising impressions into store footfall, and ultimately into sales conversions, by enabling their customers to simply scan a QR code to access the online webpage to join the queue in store.
Furthermore, NFC tags and QR codes can also be used within store, enabling customers walking past the store or entering the store to scan or tap to check the current wait times and join the queue. If the wait is too long, an option even enables the customer to pre-book an appointment for another day.
How a queuing app works
Queuing apps allow retailers to eliminate the need for physical queues inside or outside of stores by reducing the number of consumers waiting in your stores and providing a much more pleasant customer experience.
Here’s a quick snapshot of how virtual queuing systems work in stores:
- Your customers join a virtual queue through their mobile phone, or through a host with a tablet.
- Customers receive an estimated wait time and queue position by SMS and a live smartphone countdown (or even TV displays). They also receive automatic updates as their turn draws near.
- Store associates can manage customers from any desktop, tablet or smartphone device. A quality queue system will have native apps for IOS and Android, and can be integrated with footfall counting tools.
