Qudini surveyed 2,000 UK consumers to understand how often they had a poor in-store experience and what caused their poor experience. We found that what upsets customers and how they respond varies based on gender:
We found that:

- Men are 7% more likely to have a poor experience than women
- Men are more upset my lack of available information and unavailable stock, whereas women are more affected by rude and unhelpful staff or lack of available staff
- Both genders are equally as affected by long waiting times
- Men are more likely to make a direct complaint to a staff member or a manager, whereas women are more likely to indirectly complain to a friend or family member
- Across both genders, 21% of customers are likely to share their poor experience online
