How to Increase Appointment Scheduling for Jewelry Stores

by Sam Osbourne

Diamonds are forever but shopping habits are not. The rise in ecommerce has shifted customer preferences towards speed, simplicity and great experiences. Keep reading to find out why appointment scheduling for jewelry stores can drive your revenue and increase customer loyalty.

How to increase jewelry appointment bookings

To start driving appointment traffic, jewelers don’t need to move the earth. It’s simply about equipping your stores with the right software, promoting your appointment booking service on your website and training in-store associates to deliver exceptional and personalized service.

From style and design to shape and size, buying jewelry is intensely personal. As such, it’s no surprise that customers want a personal shopping experience. Being able to book a one-on-one slot with a jeweler is a game-changer for customers.

What type of jewelry appointments do customers want to book?

Why do customers book jewelry appointments?

The top reasons behind the growing demand for jewelry appointments are that consumers are interested in saving time (29%) and organizing their day better (24%).

Evidently, interest in jewelry appointments will outlive the COVID-19 pandemic. These two popular reasons for appointment bookings reveal that consumers are becoming less health conscious while still as interested in appointments as ever.

What are the benefits of appointment scheduling for jewelry appointments?

Some of the main benefits jewelry retailers enjoy with an appointment scheduling system in place include higher foot traffic, more sales and increased customer loyalty.

A key reason behind these proven results is that customers love appointment software. In fact, 93% of consumers who have used an appointment system in the last twelve months say it had at least one positive impact on them. The most common benefit consumers cite is an improved customer experience (28%).

Retail scheduling also creates an enormous ROI opportunity for brand leaders. Consumers are 24% more likely to purchase something from a retailer who uses an appointment system. Yet, in the long-run, perhaps the biggest benefit is that by improving the customer experience, retailers can keep customers returning again and again.

Conclusion

Vintage or modern? Our jewelry tastes vary as much as our appointment scheduling preferences. Another Qudini survey found a marked difference between the older and younger generations. 45% of Millennial and GenZ jewelry customers want to book virtual appointments compared to 31% of baby boomers.

Ultimately, interest in jewelry appointments is rising across generations. Yet the fact that younger customers are more interested in appointment technology signals that this is a rising trend set on its way to becoming mainstream.

As such, jewelry retailers implementing appointment scheduling software now will have an advantage over their slow-to-adapt competitors. What’s more, it’s easy to do. Rolling out technology across multiple jewelry stores may seem like hard work, but setting up appointment scheduling is simple, rapid and scalable.
